CONTINUING PHARMACY EDUCATION (CPE)
No. iCARE Pharmacy Services, Inc. will report your continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits to
CEBRoker for Florida pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists licensed in other states and
PTCB certified technicians will have their CPE credits reported to CPE Monitor.
Both are tracking systems used to store reported CPE.
CEBroker is a tracking system for Florida pharmacists and technicians. The pharmacists and technicians’ license numbers are used for reporting CPE credits. Visit www.cebroker.com.
CPE Monitor is also a tracking system that will authenticate and store data for completed CE credits by
pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from ACPE-accredited providers. The pharmacists and technicians NABP e-profile number and Date of Birth (MM/DD) will be used for reporting CPE credits. Visit www.cpemonitor.net.
It is the responsibility of the participant to provide the correct information.
If you do not have the required hours, your Florida license will move to a delinquent status at expiration. To renew a delinquent license, you will be required to complete the continuing education requirements. Additional fees may apply.
No, you can report your hours free of charge to CEBroker anytime during the biennium. Please note, if you take a course from a Florida Board approved provder, they are required to report on your behalf. If you take a course from a national organization, it is your responsibility to report completion.
No, subscriptions remain optional. There are a number of services you can receive by subscribing, however, it is optional.
With a free CEBroker Basic Account you can view your basic course history, which will list the course name, educational provider name, date of completion and hours reported. It would then be up to you to determine whether all of the courses that have been reported will complete all of your specific continuing education requirements. You can also self-report any continuing education that may be missing. A Professional Account (paid subscription) provides you with all of the tracking tools that CE Broker offers. Your transcript will display what your specific CE requirements are and will calculate what requirements have been met and what may still be outstanding. A Professional Account is a subscription service and is not a requirement, but it can be a useful tool in managing your Florida continuing education requirements should you chose to subscribe.
NABP also offers a free account. There is an option to upgrade to the CPE Monitor Plus plan, which allows you to access enhanced features and easily manage licensing requirements no matter how many licenses you have now or may add in the future.
Continuing Pharmacy Education is a requirement to renew a professional license. Section 456.025(7), F.S. requires the Board of Pharmacy to implement an electronic continuing education tracking system for each biennial renewal cycle and to integrate such system into the licensure and renewal system.

Florida Board of Pharmacy licensees must renew their licenses biennially to maintain the right to practice.
FLORIDA STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS
The Florida Department of Health will renew your license when they receive:

• IMMUNIZATION ADMINISTRATION CERTIFICATION CPE REQUIREMENT
If you are certified to administer a vaccine or epinephrine autoinjection, you must complete a 3-hour CPE course as a part of biennial relicensure. This course may be taken online.
• COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE CERTIFICATION CPE REQUIREMENT
If you hold a collaborative practice certification, you must complete an 8-hour continuing education course. If you received the collaborative practice certification less than 12 months from your certification date, you do not need to complete the additional 8-hour course.
• TEST AND TREAT CERTIFICATION CPE REQUIREMENT
If you hold a test and treat certification, you must complete a 3-hour CPE course.
PHARMACY TECHNICIANS
You must meet the following requirements to become registered in Florida:
• You must have completed a board-approved pharmacy technician training program
• You must be at least 17 years of age

Do persons newly hired to be pharmacy technicians have a “grace period” before they need to be registered with the Board of Pharmacy?
No. However if the person is enrolled in an approved pharmacy technician training program, that person can work as a pharmacy technician without registering with the Board. Once the person has completed the training program, they must register with the Board to continue practicing as a pharmacy technician. Pursuant to Rule 64B16-26.351(2), F.A.C. student technicians must complete a 160-hour training course within a six-month period.
Each application is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The board of pharmacy considers the nature, severity, and date of offenses, as well as rehabilitation and other factors. The board of pharmacy cannot make a determination for approval or denial of licensure without evaluating the entire application and supporting documentation.
What crimes or licensure discipline must be reported on the application?
All convictions, guilty pleas, and nolo contendre pleas must be reported, except for minor traffic violations not related to the use of drugs or alcohol. This includes misdemeanors, felonies, “driving while intoxicated (DWI)” and “driving under the influence (DUI).” Crimes must be reported even if they are a suspended imposition of sentence. All prior disciplinary action against any other professional licenses must be reported, whether it occurred in Florida or another state or territory.
Yes. In order to meet the CE requirements, courses must be either ACPE accredited or Florida Board of Pharmacy approved. Any credits taken that do not meet these requirements cannot be used to satisfy CE hours. All HIV and medication errors must be approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.

All course payments are due prior to starting any course.
All course materials should be completed in a timely manner to upload to the CPE tracking systems. Failure to complete a course within 60 days of purchase may result in course cancellation. All participants must complete an evaluation to receive CPE credit. Failure to complete an evaluation will prevent reporting of the CPE credits. A refund or credit will not be issued. For in person meetings, a credit may be issued for a future meeting. All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
